Save the Children Providing Safe Transport to Pregnant Women Stranded by Pakistan Floods
Fri, 08/06/2010 - 17:00Save the Children's emergency health teams have been carrying pregnant women, stranded by the raging flood waters in Pakistan, to the nearest health clinics, so they can deliver their babies safely. To date, seven women in Batagram have been carried on wooden beds by workers on a two-hour journey through waist-high water so they can reach Save the Children's health clinics in the Allai valley.

Save the Children Increases Efforts to Reach Families Stranded in Pakistan
Tue, 08/03/2010 - 14:00Save the Children deployed its rapid response team to the worst-affected and hardest to reach communities in Pakistan's Swat Valley, where record-breaking monsoon rains have triggered deadly floods and mudslides. The team had to navigate the rushing waters using rafts linked to ropes and pulleys in order to distribute temporary shelters and supplies to stranded children and their families.
